The popular Kumkum Bagya star known to many simply as Pragya has died at the age of 54 years
She died in Dubai during trip to attend an extended family members wedding
Superstar Indian actress, Sridevi Kapoor, a star of the popular Indian drama series, Kumkum Bagya, and known to Ghanaians by the name she carries in the series, Pragya, has died at the age of 54.
According to reports, the actress’s brother-in-law confirmed to the Indian Express online that Sridevi Kapoor died as a result of cardiac arrest while in Dubai. She was reportedly in the Arab Emirates in order to attend an extended family wedding.
Prominent Indian celebrities and politicians have since reacted to the news by sharing messages of condolences, while some friends and close colleagues have expressed shock and surprise.
“Saddened by the untimely demise of noted actor Sridevi. She was a veteran of the film industry, whose long career included diverse roles and memorable performances,” read the Indian Prime Minister’s tweet.
